The Idiom Project

This project entailed a cohesive set of illustrated idioms. My idioms were “rain check”, “find your feet”, and “a dime a dozen”. For rain check I went with an alarm clock displaying the idiom across the screen, to illustrate that relatable desire for ten more minutes in bed. Find your feet was a homey approach, with the classic sneakers thrown over a telephone line. It makes me think of cul-de-sacs and high school and nostalgic movies. For the type I made the letters look like clouds, both to add a bit of whimsy to the drawing and also because there was nowhere reasonable to put text on the shoe. For a dime a dozen I switched up a little bit, doing a playful take on a bit of a deeper subject like the overexploitation of common people in the work force. But the color scheme is the same, so it still ~technically~ matches.
